Aspen Colorado is a top ski resort in the world, for many reasons, four ski mountains, a great Colorado ski town, legendary après ski, on mountain ski hotels, gorgeous scenery and great ski events. Of Aspen Skiing Company's four ski resorts, with 5,500 ac combined, Snowmass is the largest, bigger than Aspen Mountain (Ajax), Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk which are separate but all included on one lift ticket. It's a 10 mi drive to Snowmass from downtown Aspen.

The only mountain in Colorado worth riding. Obviously the I-70 resorts are popular, but they're crowded, pricey, and honestly the terrain isn't that great. Now Aspen ain't cheap, but at least you get plenty of space and aren't crowded out by day passes in from Denver.... More

Simply amazing. The mountain with a variety of trails and also allowing uphill skinning. However is hard to get there because of the expensive flights to Aspen. Fly to Denver and then drive 4h up to Aspen. Ski passes are expensive too. The four mountains are not connected. Nice town, prices like Manhattan! ... More
