Telluride has epic terrain for advanced skiers but that's not to say there isn't anything for beginners and intermediates. There's a dedicated learning area for beginners and intermediates can ski off all lifts here. Telluride is also the best laid out mountain in Colorado which makes it easy to get around for all ability levels.
Telluride offers an endless variety of activities to keep everyone entertained. Whether you want to go on an adventure or enjoy some family bonding time, Telluride has it all!
While many Colorado resorts straddle Interstate 70 leading out of Denver, Telluride is on the other side of the state, in the south west corner. The closest airports are Telluride Regional Airport and Montrose Airport. That said, if you’re really craving the pow and don’t mind a road trip, it’s a 6 hour trip from downtown Denver. Telluride may be difficult to access but that's what keeps the crowds away. Alternatively, you can catch the Telluride Express airport shuttle which takes you straight to your Telluride lodging.
Recommended Airport:
January-March are great times to go. As Telluride is more difficult to reach than other Colorado ski resorts, smaller crowds can be enjoyed all season. However, try to avoid Christmas, New Year's, Martin Luther King weekend and President's Day weekend to skip holiday crowds. March is also a great time to visit as there is still great snow!
