Pro great for families, very few flat traverses for snowboarders, great terrain park, rarely closes due to storms, village is nice if you’re into that sort of thing
Con parking is a bear. Not super steep compared to other resorts.... Moreintermediate snowboarder

Very busy, upscale, large village. Some good easy greens and blues at the base of the mountain, but everything feeds into them so they can get very busy and tough for beginners with people racing by. The backside has some awesome long black diamond runs as well. Large resort, but navigation isn’t too difficult. Love the lodge and food at the top of... Moreadvanced snowboarder

I grew up skiing this resort. I've skied most of the resorts in the Tahoe area and for the North side of the lake, Northstar is my favorite and in my opinion, far away the best on that side of the lake! Great runs, great atmosphere, great views, great resort!! Loved the village too!... Moreintermediate skier

Northstar California is a great resort to me. Last year was my first year and I loved how long the runs were. Most runs were groomed, if not, they would have it posted on there website. Love the accomodations and restaurants. I live on the Nevada / California border, so it’s a no brainer for me to come here, 30 minutes. Great views of Tahoe!... Moreadvanced skier

Top notch operation. While some might not care for the lack of steeps and cliffs, the great tree skiing, lack of wind closures, and unique terrain parks and features more than makes up for it. The Village is a great place to have drinks at the end of the day.... Moreadvanced snowboarder

The friendly staff and professional take on the resort is extremely appealing, and with the introduction of vail resorts it has only gotten better.

A classic ski resort with miles and miles of runs, getting lost in the powder is easy to do here. The crowds tapper off as you get depper into the resort but the lines can be long.... Moreadvanced snowboarder
